Spomin na pekrske dogodke

V Pekrah so minulo soboto pripravili slovesnost v spomin na čas pred 28 leti, ko je takratna jugoslovanska vojska skušala zajeti prvo skupino slovenskih nabornikov, ki so se usposabljali v učnem centru teritorialne obrambe. Obkolitev centra 23. maja 1991 je bila prva demonstracija vojaške sile, ki je pomenila vstop v desetdnevno osamosvojitveno vojno v Sloveniji. Spomini na tiste dni še vedno ostajajo.
Pekrski dogodki so pokazali odločnost in odločenost prebivalcev Peker in Maribora, da bodo branili samostojno državo. Vprašanje, ki se ob spominu na pekrske dogodke poraja je, če smo Slovenci tudi danes sposobni takšne enotnosti in povezanosti
Slavnostni govornik dogodka je bil predsednik vlade Marjan Šarec, ki je v govoru poudaril, da nobena osamosvojitev in nobena samostojna država ni plod samo nekaj ljudi, temveč je plod sodelovanja in odločitve celotnega naroda.
