Na območju Policijske uprave Maribor so v sredo, 11. marca v okviru evropskega nadzora nad uporabo varnostnega pasu med 7. in 11. uro izvajali poostren nadzor cestnega prometa. Poudarek akcije je bil namenjen ugotavljanju kršitev neuporabe varnostnih pasov in prevoza otrok brez ustreznih zadrževalnih sistemov, ugotavljali pa so tudi druge kršitve cestno-prometnih predpisov. V navedenem času so pri nadzoru cestnega prometa ugotovili 54 kršitev neuporabe varnostnih pasov in 1 kršitev prevoza otroka brez ustreznega zadrževalnega sistema. Prav tako so med poostrenim nadzorom ugotovili 40 kršitev nepravilne uporabe naprav ali opreme, ki ovirajo vidno ali slušno zaznavanje med vožnjo. Za navedene kršitve so 93 kršiteljem izrekli predpisano globo, 2 kršitelja pa so opozorili.
Hkrati pa na Policijski upravi Maribor ugotavljajo, da se je v letošnjem letu na tem področju poslabšalo stanje prometne varnosti pešcev. V prvih dveh mesecih letošnjega leta, je bilo v prometnih nesrečah udeleženih 26 pešcev, od katerih sta se 2 hudo telesno poškodovala in 22 lahko telesno poškodovalo. Negativen trend se nadaljuje tudi v marcu 2020, ko so prav tako obravnavali več hujših prometnih nesreč z udeležbo pešcev.
