Z izboljševanjem epidemiološke slike in posledičnem sproščanju številnih omejitvenih ukrepov, se tudi v bolnišnicah ponovno odpirajo nekateri doslej zaprti programi. S tem naraščajo tudi potrebe po krvi.

Epidemija koronavirusa je spremenila tudi krvodajalstvo. Zaradi ukrepov za zajezitev epidemije, so morali tudi v mariborski bolnišnici nekoliko prilagoditi način in potek krvodajalske dejavnosti.

Velikih krvodajalskih akcij tako v lanskem letu in prvih mesecih letošnjega leta ni bilo, krvodajalcev je bilo manj, žal pa so potrebe po krvi še vedno visoke. Odziv krvodajalcev je kljub vsemu dober, nov način dela in obveščanja pa so številni krvodajalci dobro sprejeli.

Krvodajalcem je sicer skupna želja po tem, da bi pomagali človeku, katerega življenje je morda odvisno od te življenjsko pomembne tekočine. V UKC Maribor zato še pred poletjem, ko so potrebe po krvi največje, vabijo vse, ki bi želeli darovati kri.
