Pojavnost gripe na vrhuncu

Letošnja sezona gripe je ena najhujših doslej, saj je ponekod zdesetkala cele razrede ali oddelke otrok. Posledično so polni zdravstveni domovi in bolnišnice. Na Nacionalnem inštitutu za javno zdravje ugotavljajo, da letos kroži veliko število različnih virusov gripe, kar je možna razlaga za veliko obolevnost med otroci in mladostniki. Pri njih je nabor sevov virusov gripe, s katerimi so se že srečali, manjši in je zato večja verjetnost, da bo kateri od virusov zanje nov in imunskemu sistemu neznan.

Letos kroži veliko število različnih virusov: gripa A(H1N1), dve različni skupini sevov A(H3N2) in dve različni skupini sevov gripe B/Victoria. Največ, dve tretjini, je bilo tipa gripe A, podtipa A(H1NN1) je bilo 15 odstotkov, ostalo so bili A(H3N2). K veliki obolevnosti mladih za gripo pa je tudi izredno slaba precepljenost otrok, opozarjajo strokovnjaki. Pristojni še naprej svetujejo cepljenje, saj v Evropi nasploh to sezono gripa še ni dosegla vrhunca.
