Letalski center Maribor je kljub lepemu vremenu, večino svojih letal za čas omejitev za preprečevanje širjenja koronavirusa prizemljil.
Letalski center Maribor v svojih sekcijah motorni, sekciji ultralahkega letenja, jadralni, padalski in modelarski sekciji, združuje več kot 200 članov. Letalska flota kluba šteje 8 motornih letal, 2 ultralahki letali, 9 jadralnih letal in več sodobnih padal. Letenje in padalski skoki se izvajajo večinoma na letališču v Mariboru, pri preletih pa se koristijo tudi druga letališča po Sloveniji in v tujini. Kljub izpadu dohodka, bodo primanjkljaj uvideli šele konec leta.
Z ukrepi države so zadovoljni, kljub temu, da pomoči od države v obliki denarnega nadomestila za izpad dejavnosti ne morejo pričakovati.
Najstarejši letalski klub v državi bo tako kmalu poletel nazaj v ustaljen ritem in svojim članom omogočal nemoteno letenje s številnimi prilagoditvami – kot je obvezno nošenje zaščitne opreme kot tudi redno razkuževanje rok.
