Na območju, ki ga pokriva Območna služba Maribor Zavoda Republike Slovenije za zaposlovanje je bilo v ukrepe aktivne politike zaposlovanja v januarju vključenih 269 oseb. Del teh ukrepov so tudi javna dela, ki so namenjena zaposlovanju dolgotrajno brezposelnih oseb. Razpis za izvajalce javnih del je bil sicer letos objavljen kasneje kot ponavadi.

Interes za razpis je bil velik, a manjši kot v minulih letih. Ob tem se letos od izvajalcev, ki se prijavljajo na program javnih del zahteva, da imajo v zadnjih treh mesecih pred oddajo ponudbe vsaj enega zaposlenega.

Javna dela so še vedno eden najbolj učinkovitih ukrepov aktivne politike zaposlovanja, a bi bilo po besedah sogovornice, sistem potrebno nekoliko posodobiti.

V javna dela se lahko vključujejo dolgotrajno brezposelni, ki so več kot eno leto neprekinjeno prijavljeni v evidenci brezposelnih. Pri tem imajo prednost tisti, ki so več kot dve leti neprekinjeno prijavljeni med brezposelnimi in v tem času niso bili vključeni v noben program aktivne politike zaposlovanja.
