V medresorski delovni skupini, ki jo je po mnogih prizadevanjih naposled imenovalo ministrstvo za okolje in prostor, sta kot predstavnika lokalne skupnosti sodelovala županja mestne občine Ptuj Nuška Gajšek in Milan Gabrovec, župan občine Markovci.

Premiki se obetajo tudi pri trasi za novo cesto med Markovci in Ptujem. Tudi na Ormoškem koncu je začetek gradnje za vse tamkajšnje občine izrednega pomena. Prepričani so, da bi se morali odločiti za fazno gradnjo in tako pokazati, da vsi dogovori vodijo tudi k pričakovani in nujni gradnji nove cestne povezave.

Lansko leto so po njihovih cestah zabeležili 130.000 vozil, kar predstavlja velike obremenitve in posledično uničenje cestnih povezav. Dodatno pa imajo zaradi slabih cestnih povezav veliko težav tudi s pridobivanjem investitorjev.
