Before the (maybe?) Decisive derby

In the 30th round of the First League of Telekom Slovenije, the leading team of the NK Olimpija Ljubljana league and its main rival NK Maribor will compete in an eternal derby. The teams expect a showdown in various forms, Olimpija was taken over by 36-year-old Croatian coach Dino Skender after two defeats and the removal of Safet Hadžić, who came to a happy victory with his team on his debut on the road in Domžale. Maribor is showing exceptional form in the continuation of the championship after the epidemic, as it has won the last 4 league matches.
Maribor last lost in Stožice in the 2014 season 15, which proves that the Purples' visit to Ljubljana is more than suitable. However, the current conditions will be different, as the match will take place in front of empty stands.
Maribor's sports director, Oliver Bogatinov, has already brought two reinforcements to the club, goalkeeper Ažbet Jug and defender Ilija Martinović. The arrival of Jug also means the probable departure of the first goalkeeper Kenan Pirić, and there have also been offers for Rudi Požeg Vancaš, so Bogatinov is already looking for a possible replacement for him.
Former sports director of Maribor Zlatko Zahović said before the championship that the Purples have the road to the title of national champion, which puts additional pressure on the club, especially given the fact that a month ago they were 7 points behind Olimpija.
The advantage of Maribor is that the coach Sergej Jakirović knows the new strategist of Olimpija Dino Skender well, who he defeated in both mutual matches in the First Croatian League both times.
Maribor is undoubtedly the favorite in the match with Olimpija, but in all probability it will play without the standard members of the starting line-up of Nemanja Mitrovič, due to a broken nose and Rok Kronavetra, who was injured in today's training. Regardless of everything, the goal of Maribor remains the same, winning the derby, jumping to the first place in the standings and winning the 16th title of national champion.
